Hello,

Could us a little help. I have plans to be in Tokyo very soon and recall some talk about a Japanese WWII Militaria shop that is in Tokyo. Story goes, is the shop is not open all the time and requires calling ahead for an appointment. Anyone out there have a name, location, and contact number. Would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bryan

Wow, what friends. I can't wait until December.

I don't think it is Nakata's store. I was told it was a store with all original stuff. Would love to locate it. It may have been Steve that told me about it.
I used to work at NHK in Shibuya, Tokyo. There used to be a basement shop somewhere north of the of the shibuya station, was 5-10 min. walk from the hachiko statue. Also try Jimbocho (famous for old books, but had a several floor anitque mall ) or asakusa (also had some small shops with military antiques). Can't remember specific location, but walking around in these areas yielded results.

Purchases from trip to Japan

Hello,

Got back from Tokyo a couple of days ago and thought I would provide an update. All the help was well appreciated. Found most of the stores. The people and food were great. What a nice trip. I did manage to make it to Maekawa's store. It was packed from floor to ceiling with great stuff. Felt more like a huge collection verses a store. Worth a visit. Made the mistake of going to Nakata's store on a Monday (closed). Will keep it in mind for the next trip. Visited the Yasukuni Shrine and the Yushukan Museum. Very nice and well organized. Have posted photos of the items I purchased during the trip. Would like to get an idea of value. Hopefully I did not pay to much. I plan to list some of the items on the board for sale. Can someone tell be if the flag is real. Also had access to one of the "good luck" vests but had no idea of fair value. Thanks, Bryan
