Does anyone know of an informative site on the identification of Japanese medal boxes? I have a few that need to have the correct medals placed in them. Thanks

Not sure if there are websites that show all the medal box variations. If you can post photos of the box lid with good focus on the writings, we can at least give it a best shot at ID'ng what should be placed inside.

Boxes and their titles

Got the following photo from Iron Butterfly, and posting the writings and translation on the lids. I'm sure happy I can post Kanji directly into the text now, way too cool !

Top row from left to right :

1) 勲八等瑞宝章 (Kun-hatto Zuiho-sho) :
The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver Medal (8th class)

2) 支那事変従軍記章 (Shina-jihen Juugun Ki-sho) :
The China Incident War Medal

3) Same as above 2)

4) 日本赤十字社 特別社員章 (Nihon Sekijuuji-sha Tokubetsu Shain-sho) :
The Japanese Red Cross Society Special Class Employees Badge

Bottom row from left to right :

5) Same as above 1)

6) 勲八等白色桐葉章 (Kun-hatto Haku-shoku Doyo-sho) :
The Order of the Rising Sun, White Paulownia Medal (8th class)

7) Same as above 6)

Hope this helps, cheers.
