I got a couple of Garands in the other day, they had a couple of very intresting marks.
I posted the pics on the US military form and they directed me here.

One part is the rear sight and the other is barrel markings.
Can anybody tell me what asian markings these are.

Thanks
yoda

Hi everyone. I joined this site because of this thread.

I purchased a garand this week that has the same markings. Barrel is marked:
9541 69 12 M P (the wagon wheel type mark was barely visible)

The receiver is a June 1945 Springfield Armory Serial # 3817XXX
Bolt is a post war International Harvester. D6528287 IHC heat lot U

Purchased knowing it was an import but seems to be in pretty good condition. Stock is good to very good shape and only has a P marked on the underside near the trigger. Hoping I didn't buy something I will regret. Only way to tell is run a few rounds through it I guess.

The character on the sight knob means "right" and by no coincidence it's mounted that way.
