If you use WD-40, be sure to remove it all from the tube before loading with ammo. I have several tube feed rifles & only use a dry silicone spray lube on them and all my mags. It leaves a slick coating that doesn't attract & hold dirt & grit.

the tube can be taken apart and cleaned out, the pins usually are tough to remove but do come out.
I also soak them in cleaning solution and then dip in wd40 and hang to drain/dry

Kerosene wipe, soaking...about a week....
may be tried before taking apart..?
in my opinion it’s least evasive...
a good same diameter cleaning brass brush loosen the crude..in tube..
followed by flint paper wrap...to fit...
then gun products are to be used for cleaning...lubing ...
done this a few times!
