I have a 12 Ga.J.N. Scotts muzzle loading double barrel shotgun that belonged to my great great grandfather. It is percussion and the locks are in good working order. It also has 32 inch damascuss barrels and the bores are in pretty good shape only a few pits. I am in the process of cleaning the old gun up a bit. I don't intend to shoot it it will be a wall hanger. Does anyone know when J.N Scotts shotguns wer made any information would be appreciated.

The underside of the barrels at the breach should have proof marks that will identify the country of origin. Post a picture and I'm sure we can help out.
