This is probably asked a million times, but can you tell by looking at the barrel if its Romanian or American? thanks guys. FYI, its a 10/63, front trunnion date is 1984.

The 10/63 is Romanian chromelined. All WASR/SAR/WUM etc., types are chromelined except a short run of the US assembled Century GP1975 models during the 2009 BATFE update/interpretation to the barrel ban a couple of years ago. Then that was straightened out by using virgin milspec barrels vs former full auto barrels etc.,.

I know a lot of guys think Century builds WASRs, but they are made in Romania by Cugir. The barrels are chrome lined. If the front sights are canted, which most AKs from Cugir usually are, it was done in Romania and not by Century.

Yes, you can tell just by looking at a barrel if it's chromed lined. Remove the muzzle device and it's pretty obvious. Chrome halo, or no chrome halo. Chrome lined... Not chrome lined.

True except., most barrel components are not canted. Some are., but in minority by far.

thanks for the responses guys! Worland, your picture made it pretty clear. AKBLUE, mine aren't canted and Romarm/Cugir is stamped on the side of the receiver.
