Found this interesting rifle. Parts gun. and refinished. The SN# is what caught my eye! Looks like the guy stamping the sn# on the receiver heel broke all his "1" dies, and had to use an "I" in the sn#. Cool variant. Anyone know if these are a well known variant? Any articles in GCA on them????

Here is mine, barrel is dated SA 4-43 (mint bore) receiver is marked D28291-27

Yours looks like a "1" and not an "I"?
