Found this at my LGS.

All matching BCD 43 Sniper, intact waffenamts, no capture stamp, with BEK 4x scope, and bayonet (that matches itself).

I’m generally familiar with mausers and have been searching for an all matching byf 41/42/43 for a while now.

But not as up to date on snipers, was curious as to the authenticity, and potential value, if its worth picking up.

I thought the bases were soldered on (in addition to the two screws) and as such, there was no bluing on the barrel underneath. Obviously this one does not fall into that category and has nice bluing underneath the base. Could it be an ex-sniper that was re-blued and re-snipered? I'll let the experts weigh in on that.

I've got all the Karem/Steves books which cover these rifles in great detail and I'm still afraid to enter the mine field of K98 collecting. It feels like there are more fakes (some good ones) than genuine rifles unfortunately.
