I saw a great deal on a dozen East German AK74 mags from an overseas seller.. I can't remember what can or can't come into the US now...does anyone know if it's legal or would they possibly get confiscated by customs ?

Generally., magazines require import paperwork. There are instances of importation on the "grey market". They often make it through but can be detained or confiscated.

They (surplus mags) require ATF form 6 as far as I'm aware.

Give ATF a call -can't hurt. They have taken a lot of time on my import questions.
