Hakko seems to do scopes for a number of European brands. When I lived in Finland I had a scope marked Tikka that was identical to a Hakko scope and, if I remember correctly, a dealer told me it was made under contract by Hakko. After I got back to the US I sold that scope to a friend who was a fanatical Sako/Tikka collector; I wish I'd kept it. If I remember correctly it was a 1.5-5x with a straight tube - no bell on the end.

Our buddy Ken sold me a 2.5 power one years ago at a very fair price. Very good glass on Nippon made optics from the late 70's and 80's. I buy the early Tasco scopes from that period at gunshows if they are cheap. They had not mastered the 'turrent'/ adjustment part of their scope design then, but the glass is clear and superb.
