How about a dose of political reality. If Hillary becomes prez, what makes you think that the congress will cheefully go along with all her plans? Her hubby sure didn't get all he wanted. So a Hillary presidency would be four years of biting and back-stabbing and howling but little real concern. Lord knows she and her hubby were no Reagan in getting the opposition to roll over. Methinks you just like the scare tactic because that is all tyou have to prop up Mr. Paul.

But then what could/would he do if elected. Be as neutered as Hillary for four years. That's reality.

The more I hear or read about Mike Huckabee the more I want to vote for him. I was stationed in Arkansas during the time he was Govenor. I only heard good things about him.
So far, he has my vote.

If Hillary gets elected, and it looks like she will if we on the right remain so divided and keep putting up such lame canidates, she will have a democratic majority in the Senate by 4-5, and also a majority in the House. It will be sort of the "Perfect Political Storm". She will get whatever she wants.

The run to the white house is a popularity contest and Paul and Huckabee are unknowns compared to the hill-beast.

I don't even want to think about her having all the new powers of the president and adding more during her stay.

At least if I get sick thinking about it I should have free medical care!

The only real "secret society" is that of the establishment. He seeks to turn it on his head so naturally they will try and resist him, because they know he is right and that he is speaking truth to power. If he wasn't speaking the truth they would just let him be. But they continually try and paint him as a radical; as if the Constitution was radical, and try to cover him as least as possible in the media. The talking heads attack him openly. What do they have to lose? Everything....Power, money and control of your lives. They own this place and they don't want to give it up.

I doubt if Huckabee has a chance but he would be our next President if I got to do the electing!

Someone whom I can't remember for proper attribution once said something to the effect that you can tell a lot about another's character by observing how they treat those who can't do anything for them.

I was assigned to our Governor's security detail (Missouri) for the last couple of years before my retirement. Huckabee was then Governor of Arkansas and I was around him on more than one occasion at various events. The public persona a politician cultivates often disappears the moment the cameras and reporters leave but with Huckabee, what you saw was what you got all the time. He treated all the security guys, not just his own, with respect and talked and joked with us just like we were real people. Believe me, that is NOT the norm!

If I didn't agree with his views, the fact that he is a genuinely nice guy wouldn't be enough to get my vote. Since I do agree, though, especially about reforming the tax code, the personal knowledge I have about him makes him my pick head and shoulders above any of the others.

Problem with Huckabee is - I don't think he does have a chance. Not unless he gets the V-P slot and the Reptilicans win (or he gets it, runs a good race and even if the Rs lose, they like what he did campaigning well enough to nominate him next time; but unsuccessful V-P nominee ain't a good resume point for nomination to the top spot).

I think Huckabee has a great chance if the word gets out. I think he's the best candidate in the Republican party for reaching out to both sides of the aisle. He's honest, intelligent, he has a quiet strength, and the most stellar performance of any candidate, anywhere.

-War was launched on false pretenses and the mangagement and planning were a completely f**k up

-We are currently $9 trillion in debt, Iraq has cost us anywhere between $800 billion to $1 trillion

-We are in the middle of a civil war, one which we do not understand completely. Democracy will NOT work in Iraq. They are several hundred years behind Western culture in terms of classical liberal thinking(by classical liberal I mean John Locke and Thomas Jefferson). They have had NO enlightenment period; they are completely irrational.

-The foreign policy of this administration is way to idealistic. It is similar to Woodrow Wilson's foreign policy and the left's foreign policy in general; to go around the world trying to spread our goodness through force. Its a flawed ideology with no historical backing to prove its effectiveness or practicality. No more US soldiers need to die for the broken beliefs of a few elitists in Washington.

Then why, when she was asked if she could guarantee troops out by 2013-then end of her term, did she say no?

Truly if she wanted them out she would have said yes. If she truly thought it was a mistake she would have said no. But she wants it them to stay for the same reason obama, edwards, Ghouliani, Thompson and Romney do. It all relates back to the MIC.
