It's made by Barnaul which has always had the best of the Russian ammo plant reputations. It weighs in at a full 94 grains and travels over 1,000 fps - pretty close to the original design specs of the 9x18. Some will post that it's dirty or smells but I think it's pretty much quality ammo.

My CZ-82 likes it just fine, and it's easier to go to your local Academy than it is to order on-line. Just be sure to have an outdoor range handy, since it's bi-metal/metallic and most indoor ranges won't let you fire it.

Is it the same as Brown Bear? I've read a few negative things about that brand.
I have never shot the Monarch but the Brown Bear is good stuff. I like it better than the Wolf. The only pet peeve on the Brown Bear is the cardboard box. I like having a plastic tray to hold my bullets and they can be recycled when you do reloading.

My 9mm Luger box says made in Serbia, go figure. I like it, to me it's just like any other factory fmj ammo, I think it's clean, my own reloads leave much more residue. I've shot their 7.62x39 also, and had a positive experience.
