Were any horseshoe magazines for RUBY style pistols delivered to the french during WW1 and were they ever used by the French "trench cleaners" with the RUBY I have read that the Ruby was made in some variants "select fire or full auto" and with extended barrels and were these clips issued with any. I'm curious because RUBY's were clip sensitive do to all the different manufacterers invloved. Or was the horseshoe magazine a post war thing. I have seen a picture of a Ruby style pistol with this magazine it appears on a pistol called a Union. I believe it to be a "post war" piece and was the Union french made and not spanish? I am just an interested person in this. Any info would be appreciated.

Rubys were notorious for going full-auto. Something to do with soft metal parts i seem to remember. Maybe that's where the story originated ?

My "hunch" was post war for I never have read or saw it referenced in regards to use during the war. I have only seen one picture of a Union with the magazine and nothing else referenced about the magazine other than a Fab.Francise wich I assume means "made in France" Does anyone know the capacity of the magazine and I am guessing that it probably didn't go over well post War partially to the effect sub-machine guns were dawning.
