Surprised no one else has noticed what he appears to be selling.

They definitely look like the Romanian 20 rnd AK mags that have been unbelieveable hard/expensive to get. Only seen them for sale with a very-very few of the AIMR carbine kits. Those kits with mags, that I saw, sold for hundreds more than the kits without a mag. I doubt there were even a dozen in private hands before this.

Now before anyone goes and spends their kids college fund on these - I have'nt actually held one of these mags. I have them on order, and will post pics and details when they show up. Right now I'm only 99% sure as to what they are. Quantity will also seriously effect values.

If the market does'nt get flooded with these - good chance people will talk about these in the future like the colored trial Bulgarian Waffle mags from Chief Thunder. or the Bosian Boyscout mags from Sportsman Guide.

I think these will be a must for any AK collector! I've been looking for one since I watched the 1989 Romania Revolution unfold on TV, and I'm no novice when it comes to AK mags.

Bad day???

Take out a Hungarian mag and look at the vertical ribs. Note they go nearly all the way to the bottom. These mags are DEFINITELY not Hungarian. Other differences too.

Take free advice for what irts worth. Just trying to help some collectors out. Any more, and I'm going to charge Allan an advertising fee.

Question: Are they Bulgarian? My 30 rd Bulgys have that excess shim on the back like those mags in the link.

Comment: Who wants 20 rd mags when there are so many 30 rounders to pick from???

Bulgaria has never made a 20 rnder. If so - would be even rarer.

20 rnders are great for shooting from the bench, but honestly these would be collector mags. Huingarian 20 rnders are cheaper. If your not a collector - then you are probably better off buying other mags.

Yes, that is a private email list to let my customers know when something new is added. I usually have very limited quantities that sell out fast.

Received my shipment today. Was waiting like a little child on XMAS eve for the package.

Definitely the uber rare Romanian AIMR mag. Long search has come to an end. Interestingly the Romanian mag is a smidge shorter than a Hungarian.

Mags all have dings and dents. A few look refinished. Maybe three out of 10 I would call "Collector Grade" although all are collector mags.

Now the bad part. As the UPS guy walked up my driveway I could hear the mags banging and scratching against eachother from 30 feet away as he swung his arms. One of the worst packing jobs I have ever received!! One little 4x12 sheet of bubble wrap, torn in half, for packing material. I can only guess what they looked like before shipping??? Really depressing. Like finding used condoms, beer bottles, and cigarette butts in the back of a new car you went to pick up. Definitely dulled my enthusiasm!

While they may not be "collectible" the Hungarian 20 rounders are well made & reliable mags. I got 3 of the Hungarian's and a canvas pouch thru Centerfire a couple months back, the mags and the pouch were in amazingly good condition and looked almost brand new. I don't know what the Romy or Bulgy mags are like, but the Hungarian's are built like a freaking tank, I swear I think you could run over one and they'd still work.

BTW, I think you made a good point about shooting from a bench, in my experience 30 rounders are not very practical in that respect.

I would like to apologize for crappy packing AND overselling the mags. There was more than one person who is not happy. I could offer excuses, but that’s all they would be. I screwed up. I did a better job in packing the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] batch of mags sent out (after coming to my senses) and will do so in the future. If anyone wants to send theirs back, I’ll refund your money and pay shipping both ways. That’s the stated guarantee on my website.
