It’s amazing how prices fluctuate over time. It’s been so long that I could be wrong but I believe that these conversion kits were priced higher than $500 back in the ‘80s.

I did a little research for you.

One sold on GB in April for $650 with one bid.
One sold on GB in May for $1095 with one bid
Both were in excellent but not new condition.

Online vendors are all out of stock but prices ranged from about $550 to $750.
