We had the opportunity to handle an Hino-Komuro pistol recently, and did a video on it in addition to taking photos. Thought it might interest some folks here...

It would be cool to see one fired...You wouldn't want to break a piece...Was it match numbered? I've heard you can cock it by swining it forward with a bit of energy...I'm jealous ! Anyone got an idea how many there still are?

maybe I missed it, how does it eject a spent round? is it when the barrel comes back and it flips out the spent round? or the next round coming up pushes out the spent one?...interesting gun.

Thank you very much for posting this. I have always found the Hino’s to be a fascinating gun, I will probably never have the $$$ to own one and this is the closest look I have ever had at one.

I agree that they are very comfortable in the hand. However, I spoke to a fellow who has fired one, and he says the recoil is pretty bad. Which makes sense, when you think about it - the recoil force on your hand must equal the forces going forward. Normally the slide moving backwards accounts for some of that energy, but with the Hino-Komuro both the bullet and moving parts are going forward, which increases the amount of recoil energy needed to balance things out.
