I was asked to sell this from my friend's father estate.

Gun is in overall good shape.

Said scope was done by a smith years ago.

Serial puts it at 1905 vintage.

Any info appreciated.

Nothing worse than seeing a nice old Winchester that has been drilled for a scope. In my opinion it was probably a $1500 rifle(maybe $2000 in the U.S.) and the addition of the scope cuts that by almost half. Not collectable any more but still a good hunting or shooting rifle. The sling swivels are not original either but you probably know that already.
