A buddy of mine who just deployed to Afghanistan just sent me these pics of a parlor gun his father brought back from Germany during WWII. I have no clue about these types of weapons. I know the pics aren't that great, but I can't get any more until he returns from the sandbox. Anybody ever seen anything like this?

A bench rest type target rifle probably weighing 15-18 pounds. I'm not familiar enough to say much about German target pieces of this period, but I'm sure that it is a target rifle.

This is a rifle from the Schuetzen class of target rifles. Might be German since it appears to have come from there, though this style of target rifle was made in many countries, including the USA. If you google "schuetzen" you will find plenty of information including smallbores like this one.
