Hey guys. I'm new here, don't know much about this kind of stuff. I was helping my grandparents move today and found a 37mm ordinance in their house. I've attached pictures to show you the size and all the markings on the bottom and copper band. Do any of you know what this is and how old it is? also, how much something like this might be worth? My grandmother thought it was from WWI.

Listen to your Grandmother! She is right.:)

It's for the US Army 37MM Field Gun, Model 1916. Also known as a 1 Pounder (1Pdr). Some also call it a 37MM Hotchkiss.

The markings are ammunition type and lot numbers and manufacturer identification.

It's a little beat up but looks like it's all there. I've seen them sell for as little as $10 and as much as $50. It all depends on the buyer and how badly he wants it.
