I just bought a really nice Hakim. The number 1654 is etched on the left front side of the receiver. Would this be the serial number? If not how can I find and read the serial number and find year of manfacture? Also do Hakim's have a model number? Thanks

sksjap67,

You can reference the characters with the rear sight markings. Compare the 1654 to it & you'll see the characters above the etched serial # will correspond to it. The rear sight is graduated @ 1 - 10 (k) meters. The line above the serial # is the date of manufacture.

the etched number is usually the serial number, and that serial would date the rifle to 1956. if you convert the numbers using the rear sight, one should match the serial and the other should read 1956. iirc, 1956 would look like 1907.
never heard of a model number for a hakim, just the name. y'all have a good day, Keith

edit: 1956 is the first year of production for the hakim, too. congrats!
