Any ideas as to what this shell is?

Looks something like what is identified in one of my old German helmet books as a "M18 Turkish helmet" with the exception that the Turkish helmet pictured in the book had a rolled edge. Geologyjohn.

I am thinking it is Spanish.

It's actually a Czech M30 helmet. Apparently a bunch wound up in Spain during their CW. Don't know how they got to the States but when I was a kid every antique and Army-Navy store on Long island had a Spanish crested example in their shops.

I'm looking for such a helmet with a spanish history behind it... I collect Spanish Civil war as well as German WWI... If anyone knows of a decent example of this model that needs a good home, then PM me, ålease....
