My first post here was 2003 when I bought my first Mosin Nagant for $69. It was a Christmas present for myself purchased on 12/23/2003.

I have been away for awhile after my dad's "imprisonment" in a skilled nursing facility, his death 2 years later, and my having to take care of mom as well as grandkids.

It's been awhile.

I have since been given my dads collection, but, I'll start from the first of mine. (does not include the Izhevsk M44 I bought as well) The sling on this rifle came from a seaside town in Poland. It is brown because I had to oil it to keep it from degenerating in the Southwest Sonoran Desert.

It's my baby.

With 50 something Albanian ammo, consistently in the black at 100 yds.

Good seeing you post on the board again Gary! Thanks for sharing such an excellent example of a wartime M91/30, it's gorgeous including that sling.

Re: Ben Avery - with their changes and restrictions since covid-19, I'd MUCH prefer to shoot up here. No restrictions, no lines, and it's FREE!

The weather is cooling down now too, so there's less risk of spontaneous combustion during daylight hours if you're out in the sun.

Range restrictions suck, as do their "steel target" policies now. I don't think they're letting anyone put out target frames, you can only plink at their metal plates. I'll try to confirm that in the next several days. I much prefer shooting up here at my FREE range with no lines and no mask requirements, etc. They even shut down Larry, he hasn't been up there serving his culinary delights since March.
