What's going on with AK sling? For a rilfe made in the millions there should be no end of cheap slings to buy. It seems every seller is jacking the prices up to silly levels. 30 bucks for a un issued Russian kackie one? 50 dollars for a Russian black Navel?

Give me a break.

You may not want to do this, but you can make a reasonable facsimile of an AK sling by taking the leather off one end of an SKS sling, and installing one of those hooks that you can buy at any hardware store.....I added a sling to my WASR this way. It isn't authentic but most people won't know the diff.

I got a "genuine ak leather sling" on ebay for $4.95 + $2.95 shipping. I dont know if its correct (i got it for my sks) and i havent received it yet so i cant say how nice it is, but at $8 i figured its worth a shot. If you want ill post pics. in the next day or 2 once it arrives in the mail.

Did they just go up recently? I have scavenged several AK slings from the clearance bin at the local gun shop.
I have khaki and blue-black Soviet ones, a leather Romanian and a Romanian AKSU, I think.
My next task is to convince the wife I need an AK to go with them.

There are board sponsors selling AK slings for a few dollars each. The list of sponsors is in its own forum, on the main forums page. If you're shopping "militaria" dealers, they typically price things higher than surplus/gun parts dealers.

I ordered one of those last week from the same seller. Its a nice well used all leather Hungarian sling. He seems to have the cheapest sling I could find anywhere on the web.

Try RTG Gunparts. He has TONS of Ak stuff in general and a good selection of slings. I'd be very surprised if he does not have what you are looking for.
