Anyone seen a 20" barrel Hakim? I saw this one recently and wondered what the story is.

Doubtful it is a prototype. A gunsmith modified several Hakims into carbines back in the early ‘80’s. He wrote a small pamphlet/book about how he modified them. I have a copy of it somewhere in my home. I remember that he re-soldered the muzzle break/flash hider back onto the barrel after he shortened it. I also seem to remember that he also cut vents into the handguard. The book he wrote has photos, so it should be easy to compare his work with this one. I’ll try and dig it up…. The one pictured here appears to have been modified by a skilled gunsmith, so it could be one of his.
Would be neat to own, but I wouldn’t pay full-price for it.

You answered most of the questions over on the Parallax Bill forum. Can you post any additional pics? Would love to see some close ups of the handguard and forend.

I've got several Hakims and was very interested in that one, but being an internet bidder, was reluctant to go very high on it without actually inspecting it.

Glad it went to someone who appreciates it.
