Egyptian 7,92x57 mm made ammo used a 198 Grain FMJ / Lead-cored bullet which the sights are calibrated for, that is all that I use in mine as I have loads of this ammo to shoot in it.
The only way to adjust the front sight for elevation is to replace the whole front sight with a new sight that is posted above or as ammolab said by adding to it. The replacement sight were made from +2 to -2 in .5 increments.
Another factor that will affect accuracy in these rifles is the action screws coming loose when it is fired, this is why the used lock springs on the screws to hold the screws in place so they would not move when it is fired.
