I think the thumb safety on a Glock makes a lot of sense. While I carried and used Glocks for decades, I always felt the trigger stroke was too short to qualify as a true DAO. That's why I carry an M&P now.
Our local sheriff's dept. uses the Glock 21 and several deputies have had aftermarket thumb safeties installed.
One of Glock's problems is that they take their "Perfection" advertising too seriously and for that reason have failed to upgrade their pistols. Now other brands - the M&P and XD specifically - have passed them by when it comes to offering a safer, more user friendly product.
