My damned wallet was still stuffed with money and it was digging into my butt.

Saw a couple of interesting guns but nothing I had to have. It was a very small show in the back room of a small town casino. Not much ammo, only one Mosin and a few assorted Mausers, Enfields and Arisakas. One chap had a large collection of Winchester bolt rifles for sale with large prices to match. The most interesting guns were an FNC and a Turked Mauser, 88/14/30 (?) was how it was marked. Should that be 88/05/38? Nearly bought the Turk at $100 but decided against it.

Still a good day as my wife bought me a nice lunch for Father's Day even though my only 'kids' are pets. I also got to blow the cobwebs out of my car over the 120 mile round trip.

I'd have jumped on a 88/05/38 for $100. I have one and it is a neat rifle, and I hear they are very good shooters (generally).

Yeah, I am having a sort of non-buyer's remorse about that one. Still, I do not handload and I believe that the current wisdom is not to shoot any factory ammo in the Gew 88 pattern guns no matter how modified. That said, I would have thought some Romanian 154gr would have been tame enough for them.

I also passed on a couple of nice Yugo captured 98k's as I already have one. These were the standard Preduzece 44 marked rebuilds.
