Hello gun collectors! I'm new to this site, and I have a request. I'm not new to internet forums, and I completely understand if this sort of thread is unwanted or misplaced in the forums. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause if it is an unwanted thread.

Anyhow, to the real point. I'm a 3D game developer, and have quite an interest in all sorts of guns. I'm no expert on the subject, but I enjoy browsing galleries of them. I'm working on a video game at the moment with a fairly good sized team. I assure you, it's not a petty attempt, the team members are quite quilified. The game is basically a multiplayer only platform that spreads battles from WW2 to present. One problem we run into sometimes, however, is finding good referance pictures of some of the more rare guns out there. My point in coming here is to request some pictures that I'm sure someone's bound to have of certain guns that just don't seem to have a lot of pictures on the net, or just just plain hard to find. I won't say which we are looking for yet, I want to make sure that this is ok with you guys and not a bother to anyone. Thanks for your time! Here are a few pictures of some of the gun models already completed if you are interested in seeing some of them. Any inaccuracies you see on the models, feel free to point out! We would be happy to fix them. There will be a few minor details left out or changed in order to make the game run more smoothly, such as none of the guns having a barrel hole. If you're interested to know why they are not included I would be happy to explain why.

Hey guys, thanks for your input. Yes you're quite right about the 1911 barrel, easy to fix I will get right on it. The name of the game is not quite put in stone, so right now we refer to it as modern combat as a codename. The skinning and animating process won't begin until all of the models are complete, sort of like an assembly line. Well, since the administrater has posted here and not asked me to remove it, I think it's ok to begin the requests? The higher the resolution the better. If you're unsure of what angles we need, have a look at this page, it's got just the sort of angles we need. The only thing missing would be some better internal shots, or shots of the gun dissassmbled. The most important one to get, though, is the perfect left and right view of the gun, as those are the images used directly in the program to model the guns. http://www.modelguns-worldwide.com/hk_usp.htm

Right now we're having quite the time finding pictures of the k50m submachine gun. This heavily modefied ppsh41 just doesn't seem to be a fan of pictures. If anybody owns one of these and wouldn't mind taking some snapshots, or even if you know where we can get access to some pictures, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Yeah, I beleive he was just modelling for practice and not for a game. But we've been finding out some new things lately, and I wouldn't be at all surpised if we did begin adding barrel holes on all the guns. Also, I actually do have one model that I made and skinned, but unfortunantly the skin cannot be used and has to be redone. Still, I can give you a look. This was my first attempt at a skin, so it's not up to par with what our actual hired texture artists can do.

3D studio max 8, as do the other members.

Also, another request. Does anybody have some nice high resolution pictures of the mas 49? The rifle's next on the list for the vietnam portion of the game.

I know the Mosin was just a practice run, but it looks awesome! The best Mosin model I've seen, and I've played most games that have Mosins in them.

Only two things -- the front sight isn't usually fitted on a sleeve as in the model. The post the dovetail is in is attached to the top of the barrel. Second thing -- the rear sight appears a little too short, like it were the carbine rear sight.

I wish I knew more about the guns you are asking about. One of the things that always annoys me most about FPS games is the easily-fixed gun model mistakes. (Call of Duty has all Mosins with bent bolts and M39 rear sights, for example, and Brothers in Arms has all k98s with full handguards.)

Did you do the M1 garand or BAR? It would be really cool to see finished models of those and the mosin.

Thanks, I'll be sure to tell him that. I don't really know a thing about mosins, he did own the gun he's modelled so maybe it was a differant version or differant parts then you're thinking? I have no idea, maybe he's just not understanding what he's doing. Also, MosinMan91-30, we have not yet gotten to those guns, but they are definantly on the list. I'm going to contact the project lead tonight, and get a full list of what we know we need to do so far, which actually may help in the requests incase someone spots one of the guns that they have pictures of, and wouldn't mind sharing.

If anyone's interested in seeing the rest of our content, here's a link to a forum we have posted completed material on. http://www.h2vista.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6288
