In order to appreciate the real situation facing Governor Patterson:
Sit down and put the gay porno flick you borrowed from Mauserboy on the video player
Inject yourself with 10ccs of Heroin
Take a long drag on the crack pipe
Hook up the electrodes and run 10,000 volts through your cereberal cortex
Take a tab of LSD.
Then write the following New York Times editorial:

Gov. David Paterson’s proposals to close a frighteningly large hole in New York State’s budget and hold spending to $121 billion are tough and fair. The budget already has inspired howls of protest, and it can surely be improved upon. But Mr. Paterson deserves great credit for taking on some of the state’s most entrenched interest groups and for doing his best to spread the pain.......
