Ordered these on Monday and got them today. Hungarian 4 pocket pouch and 4 of the good to very good AK mags. I am very happy with everything. Mags look great. Just a bit greasy. Just need a bit of help with the mag ID's. They are all different. With no real marking's. Here is what I am thinking....

Pic of everything together-

Mag #1. Romanian?

Mag #2. Unknown

Mag #3 Polish?

Mag #4 East German? Only one with a blued finish.

No, not a package deal. I just wanted some more mags and if you get more mags you're gonna need a mag pouch.... I agree AK Blue, after some more searching online I'm pretty sure the unknown is Polish as well. The only markings are poor and half struck. I forgot to take a pic but mag #3 has number 26 painted on the bottom plate in green paint.

That's a nice mag and pouch combo you picked up. I'm not sure how much you paid for those thru Apex, but a while back I got a Hungarian 3 pocket pouch and three 20 rd. "tanker" mags from CFS for $39, the pouch was used but in excellent condition and the mags looked unissued, I thought it was a pretty good deal at the time and still do. The mags are steel and heavy, they are built like a freakin' tank, and I honestly believe you could run over these things with a deuce and a half and they'd still function.

Look here;

Show me good pics of the markings on the spine, keeper, and the followers and I can probably ID most of them.

I really like the forth mag you got - looks like an inspector stamp on the floorplate????? Beting its Polish.

What did they cost you? Thinking of buying a bunch right now.

Tom, I read your article to come up with my first conclusions. Very good by the way. They cost me 10 bucks each. Here is the link. https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/cPath/50/products_id/35 . They appear to be 12 bucks now....Here are some more pics of the scant markings. I'm kinda becoming a mag collector and would love to find out what these are. If you need any more pics let me know. I'll refer to the mags the way I have them labeled in my first post.
Mag # 1 Romanian?

Mag #2 Unknown. Polish? NO marking's other than the numbers in my first pic.

Mag#3 Polish?

Mag#4 East German? Very well built and finished mag. Even spot welds. Not much in the way of markings

Very hard to tell without having in my hands, but I would guess (educated WAG)...

1. Romanian
2. Polish
3. Polish
4. Polish

One or two of those I think are Polish might be Bulgarian however. I would bet money #4 is NOT East German.

Remember mags changed with time. There are very few defininte charateristics used throughout production like the Hungarian keeper, and East German follower. There are some very nice looking early blued Polish, Bulgarian, and Hungarian mags as well. As to welding - employees changed, equipment changed. and QA changed.

I think I will place an order. Really want a mag like your #4. Very neat floorplate!!!
