Does the GF Diopter sight require a "cut" to be milled into the top of the receiver for the sight to fit onto the gun?

In order for it to function as it was designed yes. If you shoot at one range,you can probably just get a taller front sight. The calibration will be off....Larry

Thanks Fellows. I think I'll leave my D&T 1943 Husqavana (sp) as is..... without a diopter.

Depending on your hole spacing,there are other options. I recently put a Solderin rear and an Elite front sight on my 1902. Weather has been bad here and I have not made it to the range,but I gotta tell you,when I look down those aperture sights with a 36" sight radius, it's tough to imagine missing anything LOL...Larry

I believe it does. The beech replacement on my 09 and the original on my 02 definatitly a little different angle....Larry
