This is the 2nd effort at a LER scope mount for the Gewehr 98. It's very solid and stable. I'm not quite finished with the fine touches but I wanted to mount it and shoot it before I continued. The scope is a NcStar 4x32 but will it'll be replaced with a NcStar 2-7x32 as it's a better scope for this application.
This 1917 Mauser Oberndorf was from Turkey. As ratty and ragged as it looks it shoots really good. Soon as I can get a un-rainy day I'm spending the whole day at the range shooting some jacketed and cast bullet handloads in this and a couple other rifles.
