ok, im putting it(M91/30) on layaway(gander mount) LOL. and it will be the first gun i ever get to shoot. but anyway, what should i look for?

The Mosins multiply, you won't have that problem for long...

Clean it up, inspect it, and it should be ready to go. It wouldn't hurt to have the headspace checked, but most will pass just fine, especially the refurbs like you'll find at Gander Mtn. Do a search on cleaning methods on this forum, especially if you plan on using corrosive ammo. Enjoy and take some pics and report back.
