This weekend I picked up a 1906 DWM Gew 98, unit marked to the 19th Reserve Pioneer Battalion (second company, 17th weapon). It's a bolt mismatched VFW rifle, with a plugged bore, ground down extractor, and clipped firing pin. Literally everything but the bolt matches on the gun, but it's lacking the cleaning rod. It's really a nice gun, I'll post pictures when I get a good chance to take some.

Anyway until then I was wondering if someone could help me out find out more about this unit, where it served and all that. Thanks in advance.
