Storage

Good advice Mr44! We keep all Pmk & B-patone as well as early English Incendiary in a separate storage container away from all else. Singles & boxes are stored in 20mm cans. Can and have had them leak. JH

British Buckingham WP

The English "B" with powdered incendiary mix is fine (WW2 Blue tip with "B" in headstamp), I meant to say the early Buckingham WP rounds with the stepped jacket. They have been known to leak. German B-Patrone have had recorded leaks in the base seal as well, though uncommon. I have sent Bill Woodin examples of leaking B-Patronen that have ignited the powder, spliting the case and shredding the 15 round box and seriously denting the othe rounds. The bullet penatrated an ammo can, with just the tip showing through. It did not detonate. Stuff is fun but must be treated with respect it deserves! JH

Leaking WP

Here is a picture of a Pmk round (avu 42) that has been leaking through the jacket vent & rupture in the bullet jacket wall for a number of years now. It is kept safely of course, but it's interesting to watch the progress. JH
