I was hoping someone could decipher these numbers on the crossguard of this bayonet. The numbers are "O.27241k". It's a 1939 Coppel. Picked up at a flea market for 35 bucks, unfortunately no scabbard. They seem to be wartime and not post war addtions.
Good find! It's a Kriegsmarine marked bayonet. "O" stands for the Ostsee naval establishment. The other navy mark was "N" for Nordsee. I believe Coppel and Berg & Co. were the two contractors who furnished bayonets to the KM.
