Hello all,
I have a Garand that I took in on trade a long time ago. I have wondered about this one being re-welded as the receiver has a couple of oddities and am just getting around to posting some pictures and asking for help. The receiver does not show any differences in coloration and all machine marks line up but the left side looks like it has been filled in at sometime? and there is a funny notch that I have not see before on the inside. Anyway comments / ideas are appreciated.

OK here are some more pictures and I hope this helps. It is kinda of pitted and all but shoots well. There is a funny mark on the inside bottom as is shown in the last picture, does anyone know what that mark is?

Two numbers we need to help you out.
1) Serial number
2) Drawing and revision numbers (found on the right front leg of receiver).
With these two numbers we can most assuredly tell you if it's ok or welded.

You need to take it out of the stock, clean off the grease, then take a couple of pictures of the center section of the receiver and post them.

questionable receiver

The serial # and the drawing # are a match. I looked at the pics and I can't see any evidence of welding. It will almost always show up in the op rod track. I think your good. Regards, Bill
