I'm retired 2 years now. Went to lunch with my old electric shop buddies. We try to do something at my old job around the holidays. In any case my treck home runs me by the Gander Mountain store in the Rochester N.Y. area. Not looking for anything in particular, when I spotted two 91/30's for 99.95. The first one I picked up was a 1943 Izhevsk ex PU sniper. All stamped matching numbers except the magazine was forced matched.Stock was in excellent shape and the metal very good. I bought it.My collecting focus lately has been in .22 rimfires and thought I was cured of the Mosin Nagant bug.I guess not! Got home, cleaned it up.Has a very good bore and tight muzzle. The bayonet had the same stamped numbers. I'm pretty happy with it,but want to know when this sickness will end.Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
