I have a Nazi era barrel that I'm reasonably sure is from a G24t. The only thing that's odd about it is the location of the first barrel step behind the front sight. I don't have a G24t or VZ 24 so I have nothing to check it against. The step at the front barrel band on a number of my K98k barrels is between 17 1/2 and 17 5/8" from the receiver face. The first step on this subject barrel is at about 17 1/8". Can anybody out there verify the distance from the receiver face to the front barrel step on their G24t or VZ 24 barrel?
Thanks,

Mo,

Many thanks for the info, your efforts are much appreciated! Looks like that means I'll be starting the search for a decent German usage VZ23/24 or G24(t), and preferably with an iffy pipe. I've never had any of these rifles and always liked them.
