Haven't posted one of these in a while but will on this one.

In this rifle's case the T in G.24(t) no longer stands for Tschechoslowakei. Someone has taken the time to match up with a Kar.98k bolt which matches in number but not in the letter suffix. The rifle is in the H block and the bolt suffix appears to be a D. Also, understand that G24(t)'s were numbered down the bolt handle and NOT on the flat like this. Rifle is not a depot rework or a factory error. Someone has also taken the time to number the triggerguard and floorplate. Understand that this rifle would have originally had unnumbered milled triggerguard and floorplate.

It has too many issues for me to consider it for "bolt mismatch" status. The triggerguard and floorplate are wrong or were right but have been ruined. The stock has been lightly sanded. The barrel has rust/pitting issues. If I had to put a value on it I guess somewhere around an RC, i.e. value of its parts.

Notice the white highlight to the numbers/letters?.....

Take my word for this, many humpers' are using this for coverup for engraving/stamping.

what a wonderful "shooter".

He has a m44 all matching that he says was made at the end of the war and not likley used. It is all renumbered, you can still see the old markings on some of the parts.

I like the vague wording he uses on it too. "Probably" and "correct".

I have just seen this rifle tonight and sent the seller a question/statement regarding these issues. I have sent him my questions/statements before I found or read any of these posts regarding this rifle. I have asked about what appears to be the d stamped bent bolt with the same SN but different letter suffix than the reciever. If I do recieve a reply I will keep everyone posted. Should be interesting but who knows, the seller might really think it's the Holy Grail.

His reply to my email is this: "It is a d that you see. I have no story to tell. This is how I got it. It's just a really nice, hard to find Mauser variant with matching #'s. Thanks, XXX"
