There is no silver solder used. Ordinary lead-tin solder. There's a setscrew underneath the removeable blade that holds the sight base in place during the soldering process.
The rear sight base is also held by lead-tin solder and located by a setscrew. Many times the bottom of the setscrew will become soldered during the process.
