For the techo's amongst us,
How is the front sight block attached to the barrel? Is it something like silver soldered on after fitting barrel to the reciever?
What is the best way to take on off and put it back on a new barrel?
Also the same for the rear sight bed.
I have a barrel on its way out and am looking at a replacement barrel to be fitted.
many thanks

There is no silver solder used. Ordinary lead-tin solder. There's a setscrew underneath the removeable blade that holds the sight base in place during the soldering process.

The rear sight base is also held by lead-tin solder and located by a setscrew. Many times the bottom of the setscrew will become soldered during the process.
