A fascinating thing about German memory cards is that they sometimes tell quite a bit of the story. The following most of all show the many ways to die... I'll be posting them in several parts to avoid creating too huge a post.

This is Anton Iberle who served in the 11th infantry regiment, 9th company. He was killed in the battle of Wystschaete on the 12th of june 1917. If I'm not mistaken that means he was killed in the third battle of ypres, in Big Commanders country (Belgium). He was hit by a "schrapnellschuss" (shrapnel shot - a grenade?)in the heart.
