I picked up this helmet at a local fleamarket at $15, figuring at that price I cannot go wrong no matter what it turns out to be. Here I'm in serious lack of knowledge, so please help me out...
So what is it? Italian? (Wasn't there a russian model too not unlike the adrian?)
It does look as if it has never had any badge on the front.

The crown is fastened with split pins.

The liner is missing. The colour is a dark brownish green, somewhat lighter on the inside.

looks Italian to me, I have one with the same color paint with a green leather chinstrap that has been ID as Italian
I was told it is a French made model 1915 supplied to the ItaliansEdited by - DienBienPhu on 06/04/2007 4:33:14 PM

Thanks guys. I had a feeling that was it, but I'm as far from being an expert on adrians as it is possible to be...
Apart from two dings, a patch of what looks like storage wear, a missing split pin and a broken prong on the inside front, it doesn't look half bad. No liner or chinstrap, but what can you get for $15?
I normally don't ask for value, but given the price I paid for it I wonder what it might really be worth? Anybody care to offer a guesstimate? I know it will not make me a rich man.

Hey BC, I would say it is worth what you paid for it, even with out the liner, it would still top a hundred bucks.
