Lieber Freund Heinrich!
In deinem Brief v[on]20.11.191[6?? illegible](not sure these are ciphers, to me it seems to be characters but can't make it out, abbreviation?) , fragtest du nach Lannspach [Bannspach? it is an "L", cfr "Lieber")]sein Addresse.

Dear Friend Heinrich!
In your letter of Nov 20, 1916 you asked about Lannspach's address. He wrote me a card on February 24th, 1917, telling that all was well. His address reads:
Student Lannspach
German Military Post (equivalent to APO ) 403
Light Machine Gun Troop 25
Otherwise things are fine with me, and I hope the same holds true for you.
Your friend,
Otto Volk
