That crest was used on early VZ24 rifles 1925-mid 1933, also on the E block VZ98/22 rifles. The stock marking might be interesting. On VZ24 rifles with that crest the sidewall marking is VZ24.

Left side of the receiver ring appears to have something going on. Would need more pics to make any judgment.

Almost looks like two holes in the receiver. Also, the rear sight slider has been cut in half????
