I was looking for a test bed for some ammo testing. I thought I had one I had not shot before a '49 (F) #4. I found a nice '42 LB but it was stuck to something buy the sling so I had to pull all the stuff out. I also found an RCBC Jr. press I thought I lost too. I was sure I sold the LB or traded it for a Win. P-14 but there it was along with a '50 (F) and a '53(F). I never did get to shoot either of these and they have VG+ barrels. I had to look it all up and I gave $300 for both around '99 and they are all matching including the magazines and wood. The light colored one also has it's original stock set too.

And the LB

I must be having the onset of CRS as this happend last spring too. But it's a good thing when you find the misspalced stuff. I need the RCBS Jr.

Cheers

Really don't care what you buy. These where bought and then put away eight or nine years ago, you for get when you get on in years. I call it the onset of CRS. Here are two from the mid '80's new and unfired I uncovered last year.

I'm not sure of the total count of Enfields but I can only shot one at a time.

Cheers

Funny you should post this. While rummaging around in the gun room today I found a Long Branch I forgot I had. I don't think I ever shot it, either, because my little metal tag with bore and groove diameter isn't hanging from the front sight. Every time I cast bullets for a gun I hang a tag so I will be reminded next time I load for it. Anyhow... Should be fun! ~Andy

Well, I suppose it is a little like Christmas when you start to forget what you have. I have not done it with rifles, yet, but I am amazed how many extras of things that I have picked up.

I had the same problem. I made a quick catalog of what I had. I took side and top pictures with a description and I keep that on had for reference.

Its also really helpful for insurance and lets you reference them visually without having to empty a safe.

About 80% of what I have had over the last fourty years came and went before the PC/ digital cam era. At best I might have a few Polaroid shots over the years. Back then there some but not near as many BS artists as today. People like 03man only have the 18 or 19 years they have been on the planet to relate from and in the grand scheme of things 'that ain't squat.' as they say.

Yes it's like a little X-mas every time. I also found an RCBS Jr. press at the same time that saved me a few bucks. The tag on it reads '$12 like new.'

Someone's a grumpy bear today! :p
No kidding...that's an awful lot of heartburn over a little kidding around.

Not that I ever counted all of them, but it sure seems to me that the BS artist population has stayed pretty constant over the last 40 years.

MJ, does the No4 with the blonde woodwork have a Parker-Hale Ball Burnished Barrel?

I ask because the engraving looks very much like P-H handiwork after they have worked on a "scrubbed" reciever, the date and serial number also look at odds with an issued No4 MkII.

Senility is a terrible thing! ROTFLMAO
Senile, in its basic form refers to old age. One can be senile and completely lucid and societally functional. Senility is too often used as a derogatory term. Senile is recognized as a relative identification of age; > 65 years of age, as opposed to "infantile" being less than 1 year of age; "juvenile" being < 18 years of age. If "dementia" is intended, any stage of life and mental status can be affected by "dementia". I am approaching senility but I remain a member of the alert, lucid, opinionated and curmudgeonly subset of elders who merit the appellation of being "senile". I appreciate the opportunity refine the vulgar.
