Despite the bad weather, the Ohio Gun Collectors Show was productive. I was able to obtain this W. W. Greener .303 dropping block side lever rifle using Field's patent action. I like Greener's patent Elephant trade mark on the knox form.

The rifle came from the Greener factory collection. The previous owner purchased it from Val Forgget who purchased the factory collection. There is an attached hand written in pen and ink inventory tag giving a basic description of the rifle.

Target sight

are there any patent marks on the sight or markings showing who made it? Many of the pre WW1 sights had patented attachments fitted to give windage adjustment using the standard military leaf.
