Has anybody ever had the floorplate get stuck to the magazine/trigger group assembly? I couldn't get the floorplate to budge while pushing the pin in, so I just removed the whole assembly to clean. Still, it would be nice to be able to get the floorplate out by itself.

Floorplates can be tricky sometimes. Press in the release and then carefully tap the forward edge of the floorplate with a soft mallet (rubber, etc.). Don't hit the wood! Should do the trick.

Sometimes you need three hands and a brass punch. Push in the button and tap the front edge of the floorplate back with a brass punch.

Brass will still mark it. I'd use a solid block of hardwood. Actually, soaking it (even submerging the entire TG assy. in solvent) will loosen the accumulated gunk.

Yup, wood is the way to go IMO as well

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll try again tomorrow after enlisting some help for that third hand I might need. I cleaned and waxed everthing then it back together and that was the only problem I found.
