I bought four BCA fixed sites and installed them on my four Maks, two in 380 and two in 9 MM Mak. I had some difficulty getting the adjustable sights off. The up-down pivot pin proved a little troublesome to get out, but the second through the fourth went easier and much faster. Each of the fixed sites had to have the front notch filed deeper so it could move forward on the slide so the mounting screw would fit in the threaded hole. Also, all of the screws provided with the fixed sites had very poor threads, so I reused the screws from the original adjustable sites. The finish on all four slides were found to be very rough underneath the adjustable sites, and each slide as well as each fixed site had to be honed with jewelers' files to get a good fit and proper aiming. The honed and filed surfaces were well coated with CLR to prevent future rust. Notes were made by serial number at the range and some final honing and adjusting brought all four guns into a ten inch black circle at ten yards.

Same as me on the old sites coming off

Yes, the other gentlemen that replied on how to get the old sights off used the same method I did. After taking about 30 minutes to get the first one off, my knowledge and confidence were improved so that I took about 3 minutes each to get the other three off. After shooting two of three magazines full, I have had to retighten the screws that hold the new sites on a couple of the guns. A spot of good old blue lock tite solved that.
